With Scot Hendricks

Scot’s approach to teaching Ashtanga yoga focuses on guiding each individual in discovering new ways to effectively move with greater ease and in creating a sustainable personal practice through cultivation of a non-obsessive relationship to the individual asanas. He is committed to providing a safe, intentional practice space where every person’s sense of consent and personal liberties are respected.

Scot has been practicing yoga for more than 30 years. In 1991, he was introduced to Ashtanga by Chuck Miller at Yoga Works in Santa Monica California, and learned to teach Ashtanga in the Mysore style under Chuck’s excellent guidance. Scot has also practiced extensively with Tim Miller, Dena Kingsburg and Rolf Naujokat. All of his teachers have impressed upon him that the practice done consistently, with devotion and non-attachment is the real teacher. And that practice is supposed to feel good and be fun.

Scot is grateful for the many opportunities he has had to share the Ashtanga teachings worldwide. He has assisted in creating and co-directing Mysore programs and has offered Mysore practice and intensive workshops in both the US and Asia.
